One of Robert Parker’s top value Rhônes from 2009, this blend pays homage to the Latin name of the legendary mistral winds of Provence which sweep over the vines on their way to the Mediterranean.
Cercius is the result of a partnership between Michel Gassier, Philippe Cambie and Eric Solomon. The Grenache comes from 70+ year old vines located on the plateau of Domazan to the south of Chateauneuf du Pape.
The label is simply gorgeous and the wine contained within the bottle quite good. A deep ruby, this wine is completely unoaked; instead it is aged in concrete tanks prior to bottling. Medium bodied with black cherry fruit and a nice Syrah peppery finish.
Quite a bargain!
