Each year, I like to think about what I want to do the next year – are there new experiences that I want to try, is there something that I want to learn?
In 2012, here are a few things I’d going to try:
- Get more sleep – regrettably, this is on my list every year. I’m like a small child who wants to do just one more thing before bed, then one more, then one more and before I realize half the night is gone. Given the restorative powers of sleep, I need to try to be a little bit better about this!
- Pairing food with wine – I love to cook, but have fallen into a pattern of not doing it very often. In 2012, I’d like to really think about the meals that I prepare to have with wines that I select to enjoy. Look for food and wine pairings here in the future.
- Learn more about French wines –When I go to pick out a bottle, I still get confused by the endless Domaines and Châteaus. Are you an expert in French wine? Tips are more than welcome!
A special shout out to all the generous, fun, and interesting folks I was lucky to meet in 2011. Thanks to all the amazing peeps I’ve met at #usguys who taught me how to use social media and continue to be an invaluable resource not only for learning but also for support and sharing good times.
Wine people rock, and local wine people rock even more – I’ve been lucky to meet up with many great Bostonians (check out their interesting blogs listed on the bottom right).
Hope to see you at the upcoming Boston wine expo! Thanks to everyone who has participated in #winechat – I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have! I really look forward to seeing how this evolves!
Wishing you a happy and healthy 2012!
